There’s something magical about heirloom portraits, they capture the innocence, personality, and fleeting moments of childhood in a way that families treasure for generations. At our light and airy, natural-light studio, located just 30 minutes from Salt Lake City, Utah, we specialize in children’s heirloom portraits, creating an experience designed just for little ones.

Why Heirloom Portraits Are Special

Today, we maintain that classic, timeless feel while following your child’s lead. We focus on capturing those sweet expressions, serious faces, playful moments, and the sparkle in their eyes—those little details that show who they are right now. These are the images you’ll look back on years from now, smile, laugh, and remember exactly how they looked and felt at this special stage of childhood.

This was one of mom’s favorites because of his serious expression. This little one was such a joy to work with—he smiled a lot, just as mom and dad were hoping! We captured plenty of those adorable smiles, showing his little teeth and reminding everyone how quickly he’s growing. Moments like these are what make heirloom portraits so special.
We printed it on fine art paper a high quality, archival paper made specifically for heirloom portraits to keep the colors, tones, and details timeless and beautiful. For custom artwork, we take care of sizing to ensure every print looks perfect, whether small for a shelf or large for a wall.

Tips for a Timeless Look

• Clothing choices: Soft, neutral like ivory, cream and beige and gentle pastels such as blush, pale blue, and light sage help keep the focus on your child’s features. These shades create a timeless, classic look that pairs beautifully with traditional white vignette backdrops. It’s best to skip bright colors and busy patterns. Keep it simple: Avoid logos, bright colors, or busy patterns so the focus stays on your child.

• Boutique suggestions: Explore Dondolo , Strasburg , handmade Etsy boutiques for delicate, heirloom-inspired outfits. Soft dresses, knits, and classic accessories work wonderfully.

• Personal touches: A special toy, or family heirloom adds sentiment and individuality to your session.

For a smooth and stress-free session, we recommend dressing your little ones once you arrive at the studio. This helps avoid any accidental messes before the session begins. A detailed session guide, including outfit suggestions, boutique recommendations, and what to expect will be sent to you once you book, so you can relax and enjoy the experience.

Your Gallery

Your gallery will be ready about three weeks after your session, where you can enjoy and view the included 15–20 carefully selected images. The gallery is intentionally small so each photo receives careful attention and highlights your little one beautifully. These images are meant to be printed and displayed in your home, whether framed individually or in a collection. You’ll also receive both color and black and white versions of each image. If you’d like to enjoy the entire set together, albums are a perfect way to print and preserve all of your gallery images. There’s something timeless and beautiful about black and white portraits, and they’re some of my personal favorites.
