What to Expect
I. Inquire
The first step is to inquire, and I will respond in 24 to 48 hours. You will fill out a questionnaire to help us plan your session. After that, we'll schedule a complimentary consultation call to discuss all the details and answer any questions you may have before booking. Once we've decided on a date, I'll, send an invoice and agreement to your email to finalize the booking process. A planning guide will follow to help you choose the right outfit for your children. II. What happens next?
Simply show up for your session, sit back, and relax while I capture your little one's, unique personality. I have plenty of tricks to bring out those sweet smiles, big grins, serious expressions, full body shots and side profiles.
Within two weeks of your session, you'll receive a preview of your 15 best images via online gallery, where you can select your favorites. After that, we'll work together to print your images. Whether you stay with what is included in your sitting fee or choose to upgrade. Options include a single custom frame, a set of three vignette portraits, or additional expressions loose prints and albums. The entire experience takes approximately 3 to 5 weeks from session to finished product.
q:What age is best for heirloom portraits?
Frequently asked questions
A: There is no perfect age for heirloom portraits sessions. but, babies from 6 months through age 12 are typically the best ages to create heirloom portraits
q:what should my children wear?
A: Upon booking your session a planning guide that includes favorite online boutiques and brands will be provided. For true traditional look, choose a classic heirloom smocked dress for girls and peter pan collars style for boys. Lighter colors photograph best.
Q:What is the best time to schedule the portrait session?
A: Studio hours are Monday to Saturday from 11am to 3 pm Any time available that works best for your family during the studio hours. Please avoid scheduling your session during your child's nap time. Ensure your child has had something to eat prior to the session. You are welcome to bring snacks, your little one's favorite toy to help during the session time.
q: what is included in my session?
A: The sitting fee includes our preparation guide, up 15 minutes per child of shooting in my private studio, a preview and final gallery to select your favorite images. I include 5 digital images in color and black and white and $100 credit towards custom framing. I have several beautiful framing options and a la carte as well so that you select exactly what you love and what fits your needs and style.
q: what is your sick cancelation policy?
A: We understand children get sick and unexpected family emergencies happen. We ask all parents to contact us as soon as possible and we are happy to work with you in scheduling the next available time.
q: Are Heirloom portraits the same as traditional Family mini sessions?
Heirloom portraits differ from mini sessions. Although the photo session itself is shorter, each image is carefully created and edited to highlight each child's features while keeping a natural appearance. The images are then processed with a white vignette and compared side by side to ensure a consistent look. Additionally, heirloom portraits use the highest-quality printing and framing materials designed to last over 200 years and be enjoyed for many generations.
